Abstract :
A partial state reference model (PSRM) controller and its certainty equivalence based adaptive version have been evaluated by application to batch and semi-batch reactor pilots. The PSRM control design is particularly carried out using a linear quadratic control approach within the delta operator formulation. The PSRM control allows us to specify the tracking and regulation dynamics independently, while the delta operator formulation is particularly motivated by the convergence of its underlying performances to their continuous time counterpart as well as its intrinsic numerical robustness.
