Abstract :
Remote sensing technique is becoming an important tool for archaeological investigations. In recent years, Quickbird, Geoeye-One and other sub-meter high-resolution and multi-spectral remote sensing satellites provide more effective high resolution data sources for various uses. We comprehensively use the 3S technology to experiment a study on the Shizitan site´s GeoEye-One satellite data. In ArcScene we produce the 3D map by overlaying layers of the digital orthophoto and DEM. Then by calculating zonal statistics, the statistics for exploration ditchs and excavation sites dataset are calculated based on the elevation data, slope data and aspect data, which provides basic geographic information and technical support for the archaeological excavation and conservation of the site.
