Abstract :
The paper describes the design procedure of the energy source for small “hybrid” electric car (E-car). The energy source of E-car consists of fuel cell stack and the Li-Fe-PO battery pack. The “hybrid” means that the fuel cell provides continues value of traction power, and the peak power, necessary for acceleration, are supplied with relatively small battery. The article also discusses energy-flow simulations useful for determination of the optimal power of the fuel cell. They are based on European EC15 profile defined for city traffic operation. Finally the real construction of the whole system build-in in E-car is described.
