Abstract :
If the stress on the human skeleton is to be solved, orthotropic material has to be supposed, and so the material remodeling of bone has to be considered. The human bone remodels its properties according to its stress state, and this means that the principal direction of material orthotropy is turned toward the dominant principal stress direction. The stress problem is solved with the help of an iterative calculation. The result of each iteration step is the principal stress and its direction. The dominant principal stress gives the direction of material orthotropy for the next iteration step.
