The application of the passive EMI filter in a medium-power VFD

There is serious conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) in the application of medium-power variable-frequency drive (VFD) systems. The EMI passive filters which can suppress the noise can make the VFD systems comply with the relevant electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards. In this paper, combined with the experiment and measuring experience in related subjects, it describes the proper use of the filter, and does the EMI noise test. At the same time, a series of corrective measures and precautions are summed up. The final results testified the filter and the corrective measures have a good effect on EMI noise suppression.
