Abstract :
Setup planning is one of the most pivotal activities that affect the process planning, scheduling and their integration. In this research machining features are sequenced and grouped into certain setup based on tool approach direction (TAD). A well-known intelligent search technique known as DNA algorithm has been applied, which conduces to faster maturation to minimize the machining cost and makespan and maximize the machine utilization.
