Abstract :
This paper presents to an intelligent car washing system, combing a fast 3D scanning laser radar system and a water cannon system. The designed system can automatically wash big cars, like trucks or tanks. It performs scanning such cars by a 2D laser scanner on a rotating platform. The car boundary point coordinate acquired after the contour extraction. After receiving conversion angles, the built-in controller controls water cannon angle to wash the objects line by line with best estimated by short distance. The designed system is stable and reliable with high resolution, fast speed scanning and low price which has a high practical value to the factory automation.
