Abstract
Today´s “digital” measurement transmitters, such as measurement devices, analyzing equipment, actuators, and programmable logic controllers, are quite different from those of “analogue” transmitters. The “digital transmitters” have more functionalities and newer interfaces than “analogue transmitters”. The current international standardization activities are to revise, update and merge the analogue-standards for “Digitization”. Those activities are led by mainly European Nations, so Asian manufacturers have to relate and watch more closely to current digitization activities so as not to become disadvantage for Asia.
