Abstract :
In this work, we show how deviations caused by fabrication processes impact the functionality of photonic components and the importance of taking this into account in the design and simulation procedure. Moreover, we give examples of how design and simulation of photonic integrated circuits (PIC) can be optimized to relax fabrication requirements.
