  • Abstract
    In communications, 8-QAM+ signals have a large number of their own advantages in comparison with other signals. This paper summarizes the existing methods producing 8-QAM+ sequences, and the relevant results. The constructions of three families of 8-QAM+ sequences: perfect 8-QAM+ sequences, perfect 8-QAM+ arrays, and 8-QAM+ complementary sequences are in detail stated, and their flaws are revealed. Also, the problems to be investigated on 8-QAM+ sequences are pointed out. The aim of this paper is to show clearly the development directions of 8-QAM+ sequences for sequence designers who are working or going to work in this area.
