Abstract
In the context of HF (typically 3-30 MHz) propagation over sea surfaces, this paper presents the computation of the attenuation function (related to the ratio of the scattered field over the incident field) for a curved rough surface in the presence of islands, like sea-land-sea mixed curved paths. Two approaches are then developed (i) An asymptotic approach based on the Bremmer and Feinberg works (residues series) and extended, from an heuristic way, to include the surface roughness (ii) A based-MoM rigorous code in order to validate the asymptotic approach.
