Abstract
We study the radiation of electromagnetic waves by a magnetic-current or electric-dipole filament of infinite length in the presence of gyrotropic cylindrical scatterers parallel to the axis of the filamentary source. It is found that the directional patterns of the considered systems differ significantly from those in the case of isotropic scatterers. In particular, for a Yagi-Uda type system consisting of three gyrotropic cylindrical directors, a driving linear magnetic current, and a gyrotropic cylindrical reflector, the values of parameters have been found under which the directional pattern of such a system has one main lobe and one side lobe, in contrast to a similar system of isotropic cylindrical rods with a large number of the side lobes.
