Abstract
Power Electronics is a multidisciplinary subject which is taught in many universities, being of interest because of its great variety of applications. In this paper we present a methodical procedure based on the integrated use of modeling, simulation and experimentation carried out using real inductors. As an example we apply this procedure to the modeling and simulation of ferrite inductors which are used in power converters. Our methodology can be applied to undergraduate and graduate students to help them understand the behavior of typical circuits such as power converters and the nonlinear physical phenomena involved in power electronics.
