Abstract :
Radio and radar receivers must be capable of processing very small signals, necessitating the use of very sensitive circuit blocks that can contain fragile semiconductors. Many of these systems must also be capable of surviving very large incident signals, without damage to the sensitive built-in components. The receiver protection limiter, most often referred to known as a limiter, can protect the receiver from large input signals and also allow the receiver to function normally when these large signals are not present. In this paper, investigation and design of microwave waveguide power limiter (MWPL) has been introduced and analyzed. All the entire proposed MWPL has been evaluated using a commercial software. The proposed design has been fabricated and the microwave characteristics have been illustrated. The measured power of the proposed structure can be analyzed to demonstrate the excellent protection performance of the proposed MWPL to achieve the protection requirements for communication and radar applications.
