Abstract
This paper presents the results for the crossovers between some technological fields, such as e-learning and the standards to improve security systems in education. Universities, schools and other kinds of organizations are choosing more and more often the e-learning platform to offer on-line education. The authors assessed security and privacy issues related to e-learning platforms [1]. This paper consists of eight parts. After a brief introduction, we present a review of the literature and the e-learning security purposes. The next section is devoted to forming the problem statement and describing the goal of study, research questions, as well as the methodology. Next, the reasons are discussed why modern e-learning systems should have built-in security functions. Examples of security models and solutions related to e-learning are analyzed and characterized. The most important part of the article is a presentation regarding the security model which can be implemented in e-learning. For the final part of this paper, we present the research findings and brief conclusions. In addition, the work includes a description of the authors´ activities concerning the elearning system, which is being developed by students and professors from Romania and Poland.
