Abstract :
This paper presents a new technique to design and develop dual-band printed antenna by incorporating square patch and split ring resonators (SRR) metamaterials. It is constructed by stacking 3 layers of printed copper conductor which are flanking 2 layers of FR4 Epoxy dielectric substrate. The antenna which is fed using a microstrip line feeding network has the thickness and the dimension of 1.6m and 72mm × 51mm, respectively. From the measurement results, it shows that the realized antenna has the first-band resonant frequency of 1.52GHz with the value of reflection coefficient of -19.08dB, gain of 2.35dBi and -10dB working bandwidth of 53.8MHz. Meanwhile, the second-band resonant frequency is 2.47GHz with the value of reflection coefficient, gain and -10dB working bandwidth of -19.24dB, -1.49dBi, and 32MHz, respectively.
