Abstract
A new type of cantilever switch enabled frequency selective structure having supershape structure for 60 GHz passband switching applications is described in this paper. Three supershaped designs of active FSS structure designs are presented. The cantilever switches made out of aluminum are adjusted by applied biasing voltage for frequency shifting. A response of 30dB isolation is obtained between the up-down stages of the cantilever switches with a wide frequency bandwidth. These FSS structures can be used as radiation pattern beamforming elements in reconfigurable antennas.
