Abstract :
This paper introduces the design of an electrically small two arm offset fed inverted-L antenna for vehicular HF communications. Antenna dimensions are λ/20 × λ/50 × λ/110 at the lowest frequency of operation. It is shown that two arms significantly improve bandwidth compared to a single arm configuration. Details of a scaled model fabrication and measurement results are also presented.
