Abstract
It was recently shown that a leaky radial waveguide can produce a propagating Bessel beam in free space. Two such waveguides can be coupled such that the fields are tightly confined in free space. Analysis of such a coupled system is presented here. Eigenmode expansion is applied to the leaky-waveguides, and mode-matching is performed. Computations show close agreement with simulation results of a commercial Finite Element Method (FEM) solver.
