  • Abstract
An equivalent circuit model is developed for intrinsically dual circularly polarized microstrip patch antennas. The circuit model can be tuned to represent a wide variety of antenna configurations and agrees well with full wave simulations of example antennas. Based on the model, we analyze cross polarization performance in terms of the Jones matrix and S-parameters and provide insight into the tradeoff between cross polarization performance and S-parameters.
