Abstract
This paper presents the design and analysis of a new fractal antenna that provides Ultra-wideband characteristics. The Fractal technique is adopted to improve the radiation characteristics of the antenna. First, the proposed antenna is designed on FR4 substrate with dielectric constant εr = 4.4 and thickness h = 1 mm with inicial diameter of solid circular disc 5 mm. Five iterations are applied on hexagonal-cut circular antenna. This structure is fed with a coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed fractal antenna is 8.6 GHz ranging from 5.8 GHz to 14.4 GHz. The analysis of antenna is performed using CST Microwave Studio.
