Abstract
This paper deals with the coordinated control of load sharing among multiple sources in DC microgrid with energy storage system. The DC electrical power system (EPS) with parallel sources in the more electric aircraft (MEA) are under study in this paper. Permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs) are the main sources to supply power to meet the load demand on board. An adaptive droop characteristic for energy storage system (ESS) is proposed. It can not only adjust the energy storage charge/discharge rate but also realize the “offline” working mode. The converter loss is reduced by avoiding the repetitive charging and discharging process and the battery life is extended. State-space model of the studied system is established and the impact of the on the parallel PMSGs is also investigated. Finally, simulation studies validate the theoretical analysis done with Matlab/Simulink.
