Abstract :
A three phase modular multilevel dc-dc converter is proposed and analyzed for power electronic transformer (PET) application. Dual phase shift method is adopted for output power regulation and voltage balancing control. Compared with the single phase structure, the output current ripple is sufficiently reduced, and the ripple frequency increases, hence the output filter can be much smaller. To verify the proposed converter, a 100kW simulation model is constructed in Simulink/MATLAB, and the results comply with theoretical analysis very well.
