Abstract :
• Replacing the current LDACS coding scheme (CRSCC) in the reverse link by a turbo code improves the coding gain by - 1.2 dB in the presence of strong impulsive noise - 0.8 dB in the absence of impulsive noise • For the shortest data block and smallest modulation and code rate - tail-biting outperforms zero-termination by 0.2 dB - Tail-biting computationally more complex - For longer data blocks, the advantage shrinks • NB-LDPC outperforms turbo codes for AWGN channel • NB-LDPC has been excluded in favor of a standardized solution, 3GPP LTE turbo code
