Abstract :
● RPAS are not as disruptive technology as they seem to be - “Fly-by-wireless” and “Fly-by-wire” architectures are very similar ● Trajectory-based Operations: - Enablers of the future ATM deployed by SESAR and NextGen - Discussed and experimented with manned aircraft for 25+ years • Lots of results and lessons learned - Can be easily adapted and facilitate RPAS insertion into ATS: • Specific procedures, Communication with ATC, Separation… ➔ Investigate how: ➔ the performance of state-of-the-art 4D capable FMS can influence • RPAS architecture, C2 link, Design of D&A (SSEP + CA) ➔ TBO concepts solve ATC/RPAS communications, and can influence • RPAS architecture and C2 link
