Abstract :
The Check-in-Check-out (CICO) measurement has been widely used in educational institutes for the attendance tracking of participants in their enrolled events, such as the courses. There are various CICO technology widely available, ranging from paper and pen based simplest way to the Web and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) based systems. However, they are still far from providing an efficient and effective measurement to CICO status of massive users. In this study, we developed a novel CICO system based on the emerging technology of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) proximity. According to the experimental evaluation, the new CICO system is more advanced than other related ones, in terms of its high availability of terminal medium, easy-going identification, the temporal and spatial precision in real-time proximity tracking, and also hassle-free user experience.
