Abstract :
In this paper, a compact patch antenna array with dual resonant frequencies is presented. The mutual coupling between array elements can be reduced simultaneously at two frequencies by inserting a simple C-shaped split ring resonator (SRR) between the radiating patches and etching a rectangular split ring slot defected ground structure (DGS) on the ground plane. The simulated results show that the mutual coupling between array elements has a reduction of about 10 dB and 17 dB at the two operating frequencies. Details of the antenna design and results are presented and discussed.
