Abstract :
Surface plasmon polariton (SPP) effect has been a hot research topic for years, and beam focusing is one of its most prosperous applications. So far researchers mainly focused on the visible light waveband and traditional plasmonic materials such as silver. This article studies the possibility of SPP excitation in deep ultraviolet band, using gallium arsenide (GaAs) as the plasmonic material. Both theoretical calculation and computer simulation results show that GaAs has strong SPP effect in ultraviolet band, and its electromagnetic field enhancement can be higher than that of silver.
