  • Abstract
    It is very important to explore chlorophyll a concentration variation for studying typhoon by remote sensing. This paper aims to use HJ-1 satellite data of China with 30 m spatial resolution to establish the retrieval algorithm of chlorophyll a concentration and reveal chlorophyll a concentration variation, which can be used for the typhoon study in the future. The study area is near the Xiangshan sea area in Zhejiang Province, China. The band reflectance ratio of R (475) and R (560) was selected for algorithm development. Based on in situ data we established the retrieval algorithm with the correlative coefficient of 0.92(p<;0.01). The result shows that the applied result from the retrieval algorithm in satellite images of July 28, 2011 and August 20, 2011 reveal the spatial variation of chlorophyll a concentration well. In addition, HJ-1 CCD data shows good capability for ocean color research.
