Abstract
For the GPM/DPR Level-2 standard algorithms, Non-uniform beam filling (NUBF) correction methods are developed. Two types of NUBF are considered. The first model is the coexistence of rain area and no-rain area in an FOV. The second model is the gamma distribution of rain rates in the rain area of an FOV. NUBF parameters p (the ratio of rain area) and cr(the coefficient of variation of rain rates) are estimated not only in a fractal method but by use of SRTs (dual-frequency algorithm only). It is suggested that the second model gives better results in general, though the first model may be useful at the edge of rain area.
