Abstract :
This paper analyzed factors influencing the bubble detection rate in ultrasonic leak detection of fuel tank, studied the characteristics of reflection sound fields of ultrasonic transducers, and proposed a new 8-channel parallel scanning detection mode, maximizing the repetition frequency of each transducer. Then comparative experiments were conducted between 8-channel parallel ultrasonic leak detection and traditional detection. The results showed, compared to single-channel detecting, the multi-channel parallel detecting method had much higher detection rates when the single air bubble or long time interval bubbles was detected. So this method was more effective to detect smaller tank leakages (μm diameter).
