Abstract
The objective of the work presented in this paper is to gain knowledge about the real behavior of water-supply systems in large cities under various standard and non-standard operating conditions. The work is concentrated on the creation of various instruments which enable the research of the analysis of risks occurring within a drinking water-supply. The designed tools are based on hydraulic and data mining computational models that are generic usable, not only with the real data measured for Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. The scientific gateway delivers for hydraulic domain experts a comfortable entry-point to the HPC capacity. Data mining applying the statistical approach examines and compares water consumption models and predictions related to climate conditions. The whole system cooperates with existing GIS environments for the data preprocessing and visualization.
