  • Abstract
The article presents a generalization and comparative analysis of mathematical models of magnetization curve in terms of accuracy and applicability for variational optimization problems. It has been demonstrated that an author´s parabolic-linear mathematical model, while not being inferior in terms of approximation accuracy to other models, is the best one for application for the problems requiring a current-based differentiation of a magnetization curve. For instance, for the problems used for variational optimization of the operating mode of an electric drive with series-wound DC-motor, which, in fact, is a converter of electrical energy into mechanical energy.
