Abstract
In this paper, the similarities between the muti-agent systems, ad-hoc networks and bacterial colonies, are analyzed, especially the common patterns and behaviors that emerge while studying the interaction of each element from these systems during the formation of the community. The Quorum Sensing, which is a bacteria collective behavior, that allows them to regulate their group actions, is proposed to be adopted as mechanism for agent communication inside an ad-hoc network. The three systems involved are reviewed and a bio-inspired algorithm is suggested to solve some of the issues regarding the dynamic of the ad-hoc networks and the communication between agents interacting in the network, in a way resembling to a bacterial colony. This proposal is the starting point for the development of an algorithm for cooperation within an Ad-Hoc network.
