  • Abstract
Present era signify hydrogen as potential and probable renewable energy resource. The major challenge hindering the development of hydrogen economy is efficient hydrogen storage technology. In the present paper concept of NaBH4/Al2O3 nanoparticles/H2O with CoCl2 as catalyst is investigated for hydrogen generation. Hydrogen generation rate (HGR) is observed against various factors affecting the kinetics of hydrolysis reaction. The NaBH4/Al2O3 nanoparticles/H2O system exibihits higher HGR and storage densities compared to NaBH4/H2O system. The byproduct formed after the hydrolysis reaction is characterized using SEM and EDAX and is observed that boron (B) covers the maximum percentage of residue followed by oxygen (O2) and aluminium (Al) with least percentage of cobalt (Co) and chlorine (Cl).
