  • Abstract
    In this paper, a new model of bipolar mood disorder as well as a way to treat this disorder using Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) is introduced. For the first time, we have modeled bipolar mood disorder by a brain emotional learning machine which is more realistic rather than the mathematical ones. The proposed model depicts how the brain acts in untreated patients suffering from bipolar disorder. Also we´ve attempted to regulate the abnormal amygdala operation-which is one of the major causes of this type of disorder-and suggest a treatment by applying a FLC to the proposed model. We illustrate the efficiency of our model in comparison with the previous mathematical works which have been done in this area.
