Abstract
To overcome the weak point that frames in original k-round elimination contention (k-EC) scheme do not have traffic differentiation, we propose a priority scheme with two access categories based on first-round-bye (FRB). High priority stations in this scheme carry out a round bye in the first round, while low priority stations contend. Saturation throughputs and saturation delays of the two priority categories are derived. Analysis and simulation results show that the proposed scheme is effective in service differentiation and exhibits nice long-term fairness.
