Abstract :
A theoretical analysis of an annular ring microstrip antenna with metamaterial substrate is presented. The approach is based on the cavity model. By including in the substrate a conventional dielectric material and a metamaterial possessing negative permittivity and permeability, a frequency independent resonance condition is found. Numerical validation of the theoretical results is performed.
