Abstract :
Periodic long wires used as a metamaterial to provide negative permittivity, can be also used as a filter. It has been shown that short wire structures can also play the role of long wires, to produce negative permittivity. In this paper, it is shown that this structure can be used both as a filter and polarizer. The structure can provide ultra-wideband bandpass and bandstop ranges of frequencies. Also the response of the structure in different incident angles is studied. Here, the frequency in which the structure is designed and considered is in the millimeter wave frequency range.
