Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the technical, economic and environmental feasibility of Combined Heat and Power for a four Star hotel situated in Islamabad. Historical energy consumption data was collected from the hotel and hourly electricity and thermal consumption profiles were developed. A CHP model was then developed for finding the optimum size of CHP. Results showed that a 307kW modulating CHP is the optimum option for the hotel as it offers a payback period of 1.55 years and will result in the hotel´s CO2 emission reduction of 59%.
