Abstract :
By large tsunami damage due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, many existing network system stopped functioning in various factors. And even in such a situation, satellite IP communication system and mobile telephone network, wireless LAN has been effective for temporary recovery of disaster area networks. We develop the Never Die Network (NDN) System that is a Disaster Resilient Network System based on the lessons from the Great East Japan Earthquake. NDN system can accommodate multiple different networks to internet access network, and monitors each network performance. We propose a method to autonomously derive the optimum packet flow in NDN system based on the measured network performance. We performed quantitative evaluation of the proposed method by performing the constructed of the prototype system. Also, in order to verify the effectiveness of the system under actual disaster situation, we evaluated based on the disaster scenarios using the prototype system.
