Abstract :
The impact of Air Mass (AM), Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) and Precipitable Water (PW) on the spectral performance of CdTe, CIGS, mono-Si, multi-Si and Perovskite solar cells has been investigated. Hourly solar spectra for Albuquerque, NM and Boston, MA have been simulated based on TMY3 for the year. A mismatch factor (M) has been used to compare the dependence of each technology on changing spectrum. These results exhibit a spectral variation between locations that impact the performance of different PV material types based on the different atmospheric conditions of each location.
