Abstract :
Medical transcriptionist (MT) is connected to the occupation of healthcare, which deals in the procedure of converting audio dictations provided by physicians or medical professionals into structured text document. In the past few years, there have been many changes in healthcare records. Even though many healthcare facilities still maintain paper records, there is ongoing need for maintaining electronic records. In electronic records, patient´s information is maintained on computers which are connected to powerful server where they are processed and digitally archived. The authorized physicians are allowed to access and review those records remotely. Now a day MTs use personal computers to transcribe and store medical information and utilize internet as their working platform. The importance and critical scenario of technology has made MT and organizations to work together with software developers to stream in voice and perform transfer of patient records through network interfaces. In fact, physicians use handheld computerized devices and software on them for dictations. In majority, the work of transcription is done at remote places other than the dictation site thus giving secure patient information to a MT or an organization providing the service is a tough task. There is always been the need for a solution that could give a secure framework for providing the solution for this service. The task is to analyze Health Level 7 (HL7) messaging system and its essential parameters for its implementation.
