  • Abstract
In recent years, there have been many studies related to the DC Grid, especially for the connection of renewable energy and the grid link between countries in the world. For the reason, the demands of the Voltage Source Converter of the High Voltage Direct Current application are increasing, and thus many researches, for example, system capacity enhancement and multiterminal, are actively underway. In addition, the research into Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC) is also actively being carried out in order to achieve lower power loss and better harmonic waveform. This paper analyzed the correlation among the major parameters of MMC type converters, compared, and analyzed some algorithms from the implementation point of view. The objectives of this paper are as follows: to analyze correlations among key parameters; to compare and analyze algorithms for implementation; to configure the Hardware in the Loop System by applying the selected parameters and algorithms in order to verify the results of designing the MMC-type converter.
