Abstract :
This paper proposes a prototype for real-time monitoring and alerting when weather or air pollution is above the international thresholds. This prototype keeps end user informed via a web application where user can check historic data and via a mobile application where user can check the alarm system. Each micro-station could be installed at any part of Mexican soil or it can be reconfigured without stopping the entire system and without user intervention. The station will auto-configure looking for database servers to send data acquired, it will auto-heal when sensors are out of range preventing from fill the database with false data and it will autooptimize when there is a black-out or low energy situation. The station has been tested only with controlled laboratory test but a long run test is still needs to be done.
