Abstract :
This paper describes the development of the software component (SW-C) architecture for a motor-driven power steering (MDPS) control system using the automotive open system architecture (AUTOSAR) methodology. The MDPS control system is a new power steering technology that replaces the hydraulic actuator system with the electric actuator system. As soon as the driver turns the steering wheel, the MDPS control system generates assistant torque to enhance the driver´s convenience and fuel efficiency. AUTOSAR is a common platform for the implementation of automotive embedded software. Some aspects of safety and timing requirements are analyzed. The AUTOSAR methodology improves flexibility, reusability, and maintenance of automotive embedded software. Therefore, we design the SW-C architecture for an MDPS control system using an AUTOSAR SW-C authoring tool. In addition, we implement and validate the MDPS control model based on the designed SW-C architecture using MATLAB/Simulink.
