Abstract :
Block-based programming environments are not accessible to users who are visually impaired. The lack of access impacts students who are participating in computing outreach, in the classroom, or in informal settings that foster interest in computing. This paper will discuss accessibility design issues in block-based programming environments, as well as present research questions and current design revisions being undertaken in Blockly.
