Abstract :
This paper studies various mathematical models for the process of synchronization between the master oscillator SA and follower oscillator AV nodes, which are driving centers of the electrical activity of the human heart. A lack of synchronization between the two nodes is reportedly the underlying cause of different types of cardiac arrhythmias. Thus, in our study, we simulated a similar pathological condition and designed an appropriate controller via linear feedback methods to overcome this problem. We made use of a two-oscillator heart system model, where a given amount of voltage is applied to the SA node with a time delay. To ensure convergence we applied the “Lyapanuv Theorem of Stability” to our system and simulated our results with the related parameters using SIMULINK programs for the presentation.
