Abstract :
Affordable Communication systems are required to provide long-distance services. High Frequency (HF) communication system occupying (3-30) MHz is presented as a possible solution. Such a system is affected by ionospheric reflection which can cause multipath effects. Besides that, to implement multiuser communication, the system must deal with inter-user interference. For this purpose, we propose the use of time reversal division multiple access (TRDMA), which has been previously reported as a multiuser wireless access technique for its spatial focusing capability, to overcome inter-user interference. Simulation results using a channel impulse response (CIR) model based on the ITU-R P.533 recommendation show that the correlation of impulse responses of two spatially separate HF channels determines the achieved bit error rate (BER).
