Abstract :
The planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) is popular for portable wireless devices because of its compactness and low profile. In this paper, the structure of three slots on the radiating patch are designed. The PIFA is optimized by controlling the parameters which can not only reduce the size but also achieved the required frequency. Computational and experimental S11 results for a PIFA with and without slots on the patch are compared and reported. The PIFA is designed and optimized by the engineering electromagnetic simulation software-CST Microwave Studio®.
